PRETTY WEDDING AT KITCHENER: Belleville Young Man Marries One of Kitchener's Fairest Young Ladies
The Kitchener Record speaking of the Rogers-Harper Wedding there Tuesday says:
A pretty house wedding was solemnized this afternoon at three o'clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Harper, 28 East Young Street, Waterloo, when their only daughter daughter Pauline became the bride of Hugh A. Rogers, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rogers of Belleville. The bride who was given away by her father, entered the room to the strains of Mendellsohn's Wedding March played by Mrs. Grant E. Harper of Waterloo. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. G. Richardson, pastor of the Waterloo Presbyterian Church. The bride was becomingly attired in a gown of white georgette trimmed with shadow lace to match. She wore the customary bridal veil and carried a shower Bouquet of Lillies of the Valley and Columbia roses. Miss Helen Rogers of Belleville, sister of the groom, who acted as bridesmaid, was gowned in rose coloured georgette on crepe-de-chine of the same colour. She wore a silver hat and slippers to match and carried Columbia roses. The bride's mother wore grey flat crepe, grey slippers and a black hat. She carried a corsage Bouquet of lavender sweet peas. Mrs. Rogers, mother of the groom, wore a gown of lavender georgette and a Black velvet hat. She carried a corsage bouquet of sweet peas. Dr. Grant E. Harper of Waterloo, brother of the bride, acted as best man. During the signing of the register Mr. Elmer Harper rendered "Still as the Night" on the violin. The ceremony was performed under an arch of smilax. The living room was beautifully decorated in white and green and the dining room in pink and white. Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at which about 35 immediate relatives and friends were guests. The bride and groom were the recipients of many beautiful gifts. Later in the day Mr. And Mrs. Rogers left on a honeymoon to Muskoka and upon their return they will reside in the Twin Cities. Among other out of town guests present were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Rogers and Miss E. Corbett of Belleville, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Christman of Windsor, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Christman, Orillia, Mr. and Mrs. R.N Harper and Mrs. H.D.
