- Martin.- Philip S., son of Ezra A. and Judith (Sauder) Martin, was born at St. Jacobs, Ont., Aug. 27, 1919; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., following a lengthy illness, July 16, 1969; aged 49 y. 10 m. 19 d. On Oct. 27, 1943, he was married to Leah Rudy who survives. Also surviving are 10 children (Alvin, Aaron. Naomi, Armand, Vera, Elma, Margaret, Omar, Nora, and Herbert), one grandson, and 2 brothers and one sister (Abraham, Menno Owen, and Betty-Mrs. Josiah Wideman Judith). He was a member of the St. Jacobs Church, where funeral services were held July 19, with Glenn Brubacher and Simon Martin officiating.

ST. JACOBS- Philip Martin of RR 1, Waterloo, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after a lengthy illness. He was 49.
Mr. Martin was born at St. Jacobs and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Martin. He was a carpenter by trade and lived in the St. Jacobs area all his life. He was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church.
Surviving are his wife, the former Leah Rudy; five sons, Alvin of RR 1, Waterloo, Aaron of RR 1, Preston, and Armand, Omar and Herbert, all at home; five daughters, Naomi, Vera, Elma, Margaret and Nora, all at home; three brothers, Abraham of RR 2, Waterloo, Menno of St. Jacobs, and Owen of RR 3, Wallenstein; two sisters, Betty of St. Jacobs, and Mrs. Josiah (Judith) Wideman of RR 3, Wallenstein, and one grandson.
The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until 11 a.m. Saturday when re-moval will be made to St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for service at 3 p.m. Rev. Glenn Brubacher will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Jacobs Mennonite cemetery.
Donations to the Ontario Mennonite Mission Board or the Canadian Diabetic Association will be accepted as expressions of sympathy.
