  Mrs. Matilda Chickering, 76, died at her home in Orleans township after a lingering illness. Mrs. Chickering had suffered from diabetes 25 years. She underwent the amputation of one leg 12 years ago and the other a few years later. Despite this, she was cheerful and did many household tasks, sitting in her chair. One son. Carlton, died in 1928, and her husband, the late Roswell Chickoring, in 1930. Two sons, William and Alton, at home; one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Ben Bower of Orleans, Dan and Milan Fisher of Greenville, and Al in California, survive. Funeral at the Fales funeral home in Belding Wednesday at 2:30, with the familar lot in Greens cemetery.
