- John Sand of Council Bluffs passed away at his home Wednesday, February 2, 1927. The body was brought to Danbury and burial took place at Midway on Monday, February 7, 1927. Those left to mourn his loss are his wife and eleven children, two daughters and nine sons, Carl, George, Otto, and Robert of Danbury; Irwin and Ed of Anthon; Albert of Correctionville; John, Jr. of Anthon and Henry of Louisiana; and Mrs. John Thomsen of Danbury and Mrs. Frank Burow of Battle Creek. Heart failure was the cause of his death.
