- AN OLD RESIDENT OF FAIR HAVEN PASSES AWAY AT THE AGE OF 88
Bay Port, May 18-Mrs. Thomas Fluette died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Collison, of
Caseville Sunday afternoon.
The cause of her death was attributed to a fall from a step a week previous.
The body was brought to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fluette Monday and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. Eli Richards, of Yale, in the Methodist Church, Wednesday afternoon. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the old Bay Port cemetery. Ann Taack was born in Mecklinburg, Germany, December 9, 1845. When four years of age she came to Canada with her parents and when a young girl came to Fair Haven township. In the year 1868 she was united in marriage to Thomas Fluette.
Mrs. Fluette spent nearly all of her life in the vicinity of Bay Port and was one of the township's best known residents.
Deceased is survived by two sons, Fred of Bay Port and Charles of Saginaw; one daughter, Mrs. William Collison of Caseville; thirteen grand children and seven great grand children; one brother, Carl Taack of Bad Axe and three sisters, Mrs. Albert Petty of Bay Port, Mrs. Charles Petty of Saginaw and Mrs. George Petty of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
