    • KADLECIK, John

Passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2023 at Columbia Forest Long Term Care, 10 days short of his 91st birthday.

Loving husband of the late Beatrice (nee Simpson) Kadlecik (2005) for 47 years. Beloved father of Steven and his wife Paula of Baden and Susan and her husband Michael Laking of Waterloo. He will be greatly missed by grandchildren Lexa Kadlecik, Devon Houghton and Delaney Laking. He is also missed by his niece Patricia and nephew John and their families of Hanover as well as his extended family in Slovakia.

Predeceased by his parents Michael & Magdalena Kadlecik, his brother Mike and his wife Thelma Kadlecik and sisters-in-law, Dolores and Jean Simpson.

John was a long-time employee of CN Weber until his retirement. His favourite pastimes were woodworking, playing cards and fishing with friends. Above all, John loved spending time at the cottage in Cedar Terraces near Kincardine, which he built with the help of family and friends. Many friends and great memories were made in the community and his presence will be missed. It is a place that will be cherished for a long time by future generations. John was a quiet man who loved his family and showed his strength until the very end.

The family would like to express their thanks to the staff and nursing teams at Parkwood
Mennonite Home, Columbia Forest Long Term Care Home and the Dialysis Unit at GRH for their care and compassion.

John's family will receive relatives and friends from 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM on Sunday, January 15th, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A funeral will be held in the chapel at 1:30 PM following the visitation. All are welcome to join the family for a time of refreshment and fellowship afterwards. John will be buried at Williamsburg Cemetery in the spring alongside his true love, Beatrice.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation - Dialysis Unit, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation - Cardiac Care or St. Matthew's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
