Notes |
- MR. NELSON HAGEY OF PRESTON
The death took place at the Kitchener and Waterloo hospital of one of Preston's most highly respected citizens in the person of Nelson Hagey in his 47th year. Deceased had been a lifelong resident of the town. He was born in Preston. He was a finisher by trade and for many years was a faithful employee of the Preston Furniture Company, but on account of his health he gave up his position to become janitor of the Post Office, which post he held until about five weeks ago when he was taken seriously ill and went to the Kitchener and Waterloo hospital where he underwent an operation, from which never fully recovered. He gradually became weaker until the end came Friday noon. Deceased was of a very pleasant disposition and had many friends about town. He was a great lover of sport in his younger days was one of and the town's best football players. He was well liked by, all and his death has cast a gloom over the community. He leaves to mourn his loss besides a large circle of friends, his father, Jacob Hagey, brothers Edward of United States, Arthur of Preston, and one sister Mrs. O. Krueger, of Hespeler. The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the residence of his brother Arthur, Kress Hill.
