Notes |
- Died, in Omaha, Nebraska, on Dec. 21, Mary A. Johns, beloved wife of Robert H. Manson, aged 35 years. Interment at Ayr on Dec 24, 1906. The news has been furnished with the following obituary:
The late Mrs. Robt. H. Manson was born at Dawlish, Devonshire, England on the 23rd of May, 1871 and with her mother arrived at Chicago just one month previous to the great fire at that city. After the destruction she moved with her parents to Plans, Ill, and resided there until the year 1888, when she came with her parents to Ayr, where her father had taken charge of the Binder Dept. of the Watson Mfg. Co., in whose employ he continued until 1895, and during this time she met her future husband, when she removed to London with her parents and on the 25th of April, 1899, was married to Mr. R.H. Manson of McCook, Neb, who is a trusted employee of the B. & M.R.R., and a short time after was removed to his present home at Grant, Neb., where he was charge of the responsible position of telegraph operator and station agent. On the 31st of Oct. through a complication of sickness deceased was removed, at the request of her physicians, to the Immanuel Hospital of Omaha, Neb., for treatment and after a great fight of seven weeks succumbed. Her parents were at her bedside to the end and attended the funeral.
The many friends of the deceased on both sides of the line will miss her very much. She was popular in church and musical circles. The family survivors (besides her husband) are father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johns, London, Mr. Wm. Johns, Brantford, Mr. Harry Johns, Cleveland, Mr. Charles Johns, St. Thomas, and Mrs. W.H. Wood, Cleveland, Ohio.
