    • Charles E. Heppler, RR 1, Preston, died suddenly at his home Saturday.

      Born near New Hamburg, he operated Waterloo Garage with the late Alex Sehl from 1918, retiring during the Second World War.

      He is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice Kennedy, and one son Carlton of Waterloo. There are four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      A sister, Mrs. Amanda Pauli of Stratford, also survives.

      His first wife, the former Ann Hansuld, predeceased him several years ago. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jacob and William.

      The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Arthur Eisfeldt will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
