- Impressive services were conducted yesterday afternoon over the body of the late Peter Hagey, at his former home, 216 Brant Ave., Rev. J. W. Gordon, assisted by Rev. A.E. Lavell, officiating at the house and later at the graveside in Greenwood cemetery. A large number of friends of the deceased gathered to pay their last respects to the departed one. The pallbearers were: John, Harry and Menno Hagey, Joseph Hilborn, A.T. Haines, and Dr. F. Jones. Many beautiful floral tributes were received as follows: pillow, wife, Francis, and Edna; star, mother and Dorothy Hagey; cross, brothers and sisters; wreaths, Geo. Watt & Sons and Mr. Horeb chapter; sprays,Mr. and Mrs. E. Crocock, Miss Minnie E. Oles, Dr. Francis Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Cross, Miss Greenwood (Guelph), Miss Borleau (Doretto convent, Guelph), Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Lyons, W.H. Hammond, Mr. And Mrs. Marshall Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Van Lane, Miss Gay of D.E. Macdonald office, Guelph; Miss Hagey girls' work room, Guelph; Mr. and Mrs. Sugden, Mr. and Mrs. J.M.Copeland, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Dykeman, Mr. and Mrs. R. Bartman.

A very sad death occurred at the Brantford general hospital yesterday, when at the age of 39 years, Peter Hagey, who is well known to a large circle of friends in this city passed away after a brief illness. Mr. Hagey who is best known through his associations as manager of the Bon Marche grocery store on Colborne street, was for 12 years a travelling salesman for the Geo. Watt wholesale groceries, and prior to that was employed by A. L. Vanstone, the grocer. The deceased leaves a wife and two children, Frances and Edna; his mother in Preston; four brothers, Menno, of Hamilton; Ephraim of Oregon; John and Harry, in Brantford; and five sisters, Mrs. A.T. Hanes, Hamilton; Mrs. Joseph Hilborn, Blair; Mrs. R. B. Osgood, Preston; Mrs. John Ross, Preston, and Miss Mary Hagey, Guelph. The funeral will take place to-morrow (Tuesday) afternoon, from his late residence, 216 Brant Avenue to Greenwood.
