- Monday afternoon the death of Catherine Peppier, beloved wife of Mr. Hy Hahn took place at her residence on Arthur St. She had been a sufferer for quite an extended period, but latterly had been in somewhat improved health. Just within the past few days, had her condition caused anxiety. The late Mrs. Hahn was born in Woolwich Township, but with her husband, has been a resident of Elmira for about 35 years. She bore the high regard of a large circle of friends whose sympathy goes out to be the bereaved family. The surviving family consists of five sons and three daughters, John C:, and Chas. C., Berlin; Geo. of ocotoks, Ala.; Jacob Han: over; and Henry at home; Miss Lizzie, Detroit; Miss Louise, Berlin, and Lily, at home. The funeral will be held to-day, (Thurday) at 2 o'clock.

The Funeral Will take place from her late residence, on Arthur Street, on Thursday, the Tenth day of October, at Two o'clock

Catherine Peppler was born May 6th, 1842, being a daughter of the late Jacob Peppler, who lived a couple of miles east of Elmira: She was married to Henry Hahn in1863 and for about 10 years they lived on a farmer in the Jerusalem section. They afterwards moved to Elmira and have lived here ever since. They had a family of nine children, who all survive her except the eldest, Annie, who died about ten years ago, The living are: Jacob, Hanover, Johan and Charles, Berlin, George, Okotoks, Alberta; and Henry at home; Lizzie, Detroit, Louise, Berlin; and Lily at home. Five brothers and fact sisters also survive. her. During the last year her health was not good as usual and about a month ago she became seriously ill. About mid-day on Monday she passed peacefully away, being conscious to the last. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 10th.
