Notes - William Joseph was born in Rochester to Joseph Robido from Canada, and Lydia Eagar/Agar, from Vermont. William married his first wife, Elizabeth Connor, circa1860. His occupation at that time was a cooper. William enlisted in the Union army, 17th Volunteer, New York Light Artillery, 1862. He deserted the army and emigrated to Canada on 17 Jan, 1863. On 20 Oct, 1863, William George Rubadeux was born in Galt, Ontario, Canada, with baptism 15 Feb, 1866. The next child born to William was Lavell Bertram, or Bert Lavell, born 12 Apr, 1868 in Galt, Ontario, Canada. , with baptism 4 Oct, 1868. Within a year, William must have divorced (or left) Elizabeth Conner Rubadeux, and married Mary Prest (still searching for a marriage record). Their 1st child, John Camel Rubadeux, was born in Rochester, New York on 7 Apr, 1869. John's birth comes 6 mos. after Mary's marriage to 'George,' in Galt. In the 1869 Monroe Co. NY, directory, William Joseph is listed once again as a cooper. Sometime in the next year and a half, William Joseph and Mary leave Rochester. Their next child, Charles Avril, was born 8 Mar, 1871, in Beach Haven, PA. Mary and William then moved to the Ohio area circa 1872. Their daughter Cora Grace, was the first born in Ohio, in 1873. The 1880 federal census has the family living in Sylvania, Ohio. Their family in Ohio eventually became merchants and restaurant owners.
