    • GILCHRIST, MARY (Nee Robertson)

      At Galt Hospital, on Friday morning, September 2, 1932, Mrs. J. W. Gilchrist, in her 65th year. She had been ailing for some time but some two weeks ago, while visiting her brother, Wilson Robertson, she suffered a fractured hip, when she fell and was removed to hospital. The funeral service, on Sunday at 2: 30 from home of her brother, Wilson Robertson, 2nd concession, Puslinch to Hespeler Cemetery, was largely attended by old friends and acquaintances. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Robertson and was born in Beverly Township. She was a lifelong resident of this district. Mrs. Gilchrist had a very quiet, unassuming manner, which endeared her to those with whom she came in contact. Survived by her husband, John W. Gilchrist of Puslinch Township; two brothers, Wilson Robertson of Puslinch Township; Jack Robertson of Hespeler; and a sister, Miss Belle Robertson of Puslinch Township. Rev J. J. Lowe conducted the services. Pallbearers were William. Galbraith of Guelph; Max Young of Clyde; William Gilchrist of Galt; William McCormick of Crieff; John Paddock and John Robertson of Puslinch.

      -Information from the death certificate: Born in Beverley Township on May 17, 1868, daughter of Thomas Robertson and Isabella Young. Died of pernicious anaemia at age 64 years, 3 months and 16 days.
