- OBITUARY
Mrs. Catharine Fach
The death of Mrs. Catherine Fach occurred at her home, Preston, on Tuesday, Dec. 28th, in the 70th year of her age. For about three months Mrs. Fach has been suffering from heart failure and indigestion and on Tuesday succumbed to the effects of her physical trouble. The deceased was born in Frienberg, Germany, June 10th, 1828, and came to this country when three years old. She first resided with her parents on a farm near Kossuth. In 1848 she married Mr. Peter Fach, who predeceased her a short time ago, Eleven children remain to mourn the loss of a loving mother. Of these Peter resides near Hespeler; Mrs. John Eggert near Holmes Mill; Mrs. Pierce Wittmann, Middleport, N.Y.; Mrs. C. Polster, Medina, N.Y.; Mr. A J. Spielmaker, Big Rapids, Mich.; Mrs J. Roth, on the old homestead near Preston; Edward at Fisher's Mills; William and Mrs. Geo. Roth, in Preston; Frank and Annie at home. There are also three sisters and two brothers of deceased. Mrs. James Murphy, living in Hespeler; Mrs. Francis in Berlin; Mrs. Keller, Toledo, Ohio; Mr. F. Kerchner, in Hanover, and Mr. John Kerchner on the old homestead. Among the family relatives are twenty five grand-children and one great grand-child. Deceased was highly esteemed by all who knew her; as being a good christian, a faithful wife, kind mother and an obliging neighbor. -Preston Progress.
