    • OBITUARY.

      Christian Huber was born in Canada, May 14, 1839, and died in Formoso, Kans., aged 76 years, 3 months, and 19 days. He married Caroline Kipper Oct. 11, 1864. Five years later they moved to Nemaha county, Neb. living there two years, after which they moved to Jewell county, Ks., and homesteaded on the farm now owned by J. R. Payne.

      To this union were born thirteen children. all of whom survive but Caroline, who died June 26, 1896 aged 19 years. Eight boys and tour girls remain: John, Joe, Ed. Louie, Chris, and Frank of Formoso, Dony of Belmont, Wash., Mrs Julia Patrick, Mrs. Mary Caldwell, Mrs. Clara Clark, all of Formoso. and MN. Anna Kelly. of Kansas City. There are thirty three grandchildren and live great-grandchildren.

      OBITUARY.

      Carolina Kipper was born April 6, 1846 in Toronto, Ontario. Canada. Dyed at her home in Formoso, Kansas, August 27, 1924, age 78 years. 4 months and 21 days.

      She was united in marriage to Christian Huber at Toronto. Canada. in 1864 They moved from Canada to Rulo, Nebr., and in 1871 came to Jewell county, Kansas. homesteading a farm five miles southwest of Formoso. They moved from the farm to Formoso in 1912. Mr. Huber died on Sept. 2, 1915. Since that time Mrs. Huber and the three boys. John. Joe and am have resided in the home here.

      Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Huber, twelve of whom are still living and were present during their mother's last illness. One daughter, Carolina died at the age of 20 years, in Kansas City, Mo. The suvviving children are: Andony Huber, Belmont, Wash.; John Huber, Formoso, Kans.; Mrs. Anna Kelly, Kansas City, Mo.; Louie Huber, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. Julia Patrick, Chris Huber, Joe Huber, Mrs. Mary Caldwell, Samuel Huber, all of Formoso, Frank Hubitr, Kenosha, Wisconsin; Edward Huber Oklahoma City Okla.: and Mrs. Clara Clark, Republic City. Kansas.


      M. Huber had been in good health and doing her work about the until May 10th of this year when She fell and sustained injuries which confined her to her bed. The best of care was provided, but her advanced age prevented her recovery and illness resulting from her injuries caused her death on August 27th. She was very patient all during the fifteen weeks she was bedfast and bore her suffering bravely. A good citizen and a kind and loving mother has gone to her reward.

      The funeral services were held at the Catholic church, to which she was a true and loyal member, on Friday. August 29th, conducted by Father August 29th. Interment in the Jewell cemetery.
