    • TYE - October 13, 1974, Mr. Howard Warner Tye, aged 91 years, of 642 Hlllcrest Ave., W. Calgary, Albert, passed away after a brief illness at Hamilton, Ontario.

      Mr. Tye, born in Haysvllle, Ontario, graduated in engineering from the university of Toronto in 1908. He was employed with the CP Railway and later with N.A. Railwav in Edmonton as Chief Engineer. He was awarded the Military Cross for bravery during World War I in France. Mr. Tye was active in many organizations in Edmonton, Victoria and Calgary.

      He was predeceased by his wife Ellen in 1968, a daughter Madeleine Pierson in 1964, and a son Robert in 1925. He is survived by a son Bill, Calgary, and a daughter Mrs. Ian (Ruth) McKenzie, Dundas, Ontario; 7 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      Services at Christ Church, Elbe Park, 34th Ave. and 8th Street, S.W., Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, Oct. 17, 1974 at 10 a.m. Rev. Canon David G. Tatchell and Rev. Alan Challacombe officiating. Interment at Lacombe, Alberta. Foster Garden Chapel, 540-16 Ave N.W. Calgary directors. In lieu of flowers donations may be mad to the Charity of your choice.

      TYE, HOWARD WARNER


      Lieutenant. - Enlisted March 13, 1916 with 195 th Batt. (City of Regina) Transferred to 78 th Inf. Batt in France Nov. 15, 1916, Church of England.

      Born at Haysville, Oct.30, 1883 educated at Haysville and at Galt Collegiate Institute and graduated in 1908 from School of Practical Science, U. of T. Associated with Construction Dept. of C.P.R.fromI902 to 191 Member of Canadian Soc, Civil Engineers. Married E.W.Watson.

      Discharged Jan. 16, 1919 and is at 2320 Lorne St., Regina, Sask, Served from Deo. I, 1916 to Apr 15, 1918 when he contracted trench fever. In October he took Influenza and returned to Canad Dec.1918. Was awarded the Milit ary Cross after Passchendaele and was invested by King George at Buckingham July 10, 1918.
