  SHANTZ, Harold V. - At his residence, on Saturday, May 9, 1981, following a brief illness, Harold V. Shantz, aged 82 years, of 59 Queen St., New Dundee. Mr. Shantz was. a very active member of the Missionary Church and was also very active in many farming organizations. He was a director of Gay Lea Food Products and past secretary of the Federation of Agriculture for Waterloo county. Husband of the former Gladys Betzner; father of Glenn of New Dundee, Darcy of RR 2, New Hamburg and Doris of RR 1, Nobel; brother of Rev. Sydney S. of Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, Miss Elda and Miss Olive, both- of New Dundee. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Greta Betzner; one brother and four sisters. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, until noon Tuesday, when removal will be made to the Plattsville Missionary Church for funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Rev.
