Notes |
- Mr. Henry Ambrecht, one of our well known and highly respected old pioneers, was called from this world very suddenly on Feb 27th last. The aged gentleman arose that morning in his unusual health and was walking about the yard and chatting with a number of friends. About 11 o'clock he returned to the house and took a seat. A few minutes later he was stricken with apoplexy and died almost immediately. The funeral took place at the Philipsburg Cemetery on the following Monday afternoon. Deceased leaves a wife and three adopted children to mourn his loss. They are: Mrs. Henry Wagner, of Philipsburg; Mr. Herman Enilstein, of Macton; and Mrs. John Otto, New Hamburg. Deceased was 78 years of age.
