  In Loving Memory Died In North Dumfries, on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 1913, at 6.30 a.m. Bessie M. Gemmell Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gemmell In her 27th year. The Funeral Will take place from her late residence, Lot 34, Con. 9, North Dumfries, on Friday, January 2, 1914, at 2.30 p.m., to Ayr cemetery. Friends and acquaintances will please accept this intimation. Funeral Card ______________________ Called Away Suddenly - the residents of Ayr and vicinity were much shocked to learn of the sudden death on Wednesday morning of Bessie M. Gemmell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gemmell, in her 27th year. Deceased had attended Knox Church of which she was a member, twice on Sunday last and appeared to be in the best of health. She contracted a cold a few days ago which turned to pneumonia, affecting her heart, and from which death resulted. She was of a bright, cheerful, friendly disposition and was a great favorite with all who knew her and her death will be sincerely regretted by all. Besides her father and mother she leaves to mourn their loss two sisters and three brothers - Mrs. Geo. Smye, Mary Matthew, John and James. The funeral will take place on Friday afternoon at 2: 30 from her late residence, lot 34, con. 9, North Dumfries, to Ayr cemetery. The Ayr News Jan 1 1914 pg 8
