  DEATH OF ANOTHER OLD RESIDENT The oldest residents of North Dumfries and of Galt will be pained to hear of the death of Isabella Dalgleish, relict of the late George Turnbull, which took place at 1 o'clock on Monday. The deceased was a sister of the late James Dalgleish, whose death and also that of his wife's occurred so close together a little over a year ago. Mrs. Turnbull had been in feeble health for a number of years, but was until a short time ago able to be around and her death though expected was a sore trial for the family. She was born in Ettrick, Selkirkshire, Scotland, in 1809 and came to Canada in the year 1833, accompanied by her brother Thomas. They took up land at Cedar Creek and were followed the next year by their father, mother and brother, James. The father and mother died suddenly, the same year they came out and were buried at the Cedar Creek Cemetery. The brothers and sister continued on the farm until the year 1838, when the deceased was married by Rev. James Strang of Galt to George Turnbull, a school teacher in Blenheim Township. They resided in that section until 1846, when they moved to Galt, In 1862. Mr. Turnbull died and was buried in the old High Park Cemetery. Mrs. Turnbull since then has been living with her children, that were single. At the time of her death, she was in her 84th year and leaves four sons and a daughter, to mourn her, John, George and Mary at home and William and Robert in Michigan. The funeral took place on Wednesday, to Mount View Cemetery and was very largely attended. The Weekly Reformer 24 Feb 1893 pg 1
