Notes |
- Passing of Mrs. R. To Morton - Once again the hand of Death has been busy in our little community. This time a well-known resident in the person of Mrs. R. T. Morton answered the call, the summons coming about three o'clock on Tuesday morning. The deceased, who was in her 67th year, had been ill at intervals for some years, so that her final taking off was not unexpected. She was an American by birth, her home being in New York State, where she was united in marriage with the fate R. T. Morton, and came to Ayr as a bride some 40 years since. Her husband and three sons (the entire family) predeceased her. Mrs. Morton was for many years a staunch member of Stanley-st. church and a worker both in the church and the Sunday school. She was also prominent in the social circle and will be very much missed in the community. Dr. Wm. Lovett and Mr. C. K. Morton are brothers-in-law of the deceased. The funeral will take place at 3 p.m. today (Thursday) from her late residence, Stanley Street, to the Ayr cemetery.
