- Bitschy: Harold C. Passed away peacefully at Leisureworld Care Giving Home on Tuesday January 21st., 2014, with family and caregivers at his side. Harold Charles Bitschy, aged 88 years. Harold was a member of St. Boniface Church, Maryhill, the Maryhill Knights of Columbus and Father Funcken General Assembly 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and the Maryhill Historical Society, Harold was employed as a Carpenter with Feure Homes and then was site supervisor with Tampa Hall retiring in 1991. Dear father to Roy and his wife Shirley of Waterloo, his son-in-law Bruce Johnston of Breslau and sister-in-law Irene Bitschy, loving grandpa to Trevor, Todd (Charles), Tammy and Craig. Predeceased by his parents Walter Bitschy and Clara Yantz, his wife Helen Steffler in 2002, his daughter Joyce Johnston in 2013, three brothers Ed, John and Bill and four sisters Emma Frank, Wilhelmina Spitzig, Marie Karges and Mabel Harnack. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home with Father Ronald Voisin officiating, reception to follow in the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre and donations may be made to the K-W Alzheimer's society or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre as expressions of sympathy through the funeral home.
