  Levi Stricker, 98 believed to have been the oldest living resident in Lincoln County, died at his home March 21 Despite his age Mr. Stricker had not lost his enthusiasm for music y's old-time fiddling contest as recently as last year. He was born at Linwood, where he married the former Margaret Burnett in 1889. Three years later the couple moved to Lambton County, where they lived as pioneers after clearing dense bush to make their own farm. Mrs. Stricker predeceased her husband. Mr. Stricker farmed later at Linwood, then at Beamsville, before retiring to Grimsby Beach about 25 years ago. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stricker, he was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Beamsville. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wilmer (Geneva) Freeman of Elmira, Mrs. R.E. (Martha) Beggs of Kitchener, Mrs. Donald (Winnifred) Jory of Beamsville and Mrs. John (Illa) Morley of Grimsby Beach, three sons, Orton of Grimsby, Irvine of St. Catharines and William of Toronto; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kates of Rochester, N.Y., and Mrs. Nora Kauffman of Detroit, Mich: 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
