  CRESS, Vernal O. - Peacefully, on Monday, Nov. 27, 1989, at his home, 10 High St., St. Jacobs, Vernal O. Cress, in his 65th year. Beloved husband of Vera Schweitzer; dear father of Diane and Blair Brown of St. Jacobs, Carol and Grant Czarny of Woodstock and Bonnie and Peter Horst of St. Jacobs. Fondly remembered by his granddaughters, Amanda and Jessica Brown. Brother of Mrs. Helen MacPherson and brother-in-law of Mrs. Ruth Cress, both of St. Jacobs. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Olga Cress; twin sons, Mark and Dale and two brothers, Wilbert and Lloyd. Godfather of David Snyder, Michael Ritter and Dale MacPherson. Vernal was a former employee of Brewers Retail. Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after 2 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive their friends (Wednesday) 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 11 a.m. on Thursday, transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs, for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. Mosses officiating, followed by interment in St. James Lutheran cemetery.
