Notes |
- RADUNSKE, Robert (Bob) Otto Passed away on the morning of March 29, 2017 after a strong battle with pancreatic cancer at Innisfree House in Kitchener. Bob was the son of the late Otto and Gertrude Radunske. Beloved husband of Shelly Radunske (Lewis) whom he married June 27, 2009. Proud father of Chadwick (Dahlia) Radunske, Rachel (Kevin) Radunske, Brock (Kelly) Radunske, and Abby (Tim) Songin and step-father to Christian (Melissa) Lewis. Sadly missed by his Grandchildren: Lucy, Nolan, and Trudy. Survived by his sisters Marlene Wynnyck and Sandra (Doug) Rae, and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Patricia Radunske, nephew Joshua Sangster and brother-in-law Wayne Rittenhouse. Dearly remembered by Connie Radunske and the extended Shantz and Lewis families and friends. Bob was raised on a farm in Haysville, ON where he grew up working hard and enjoying country living. He attended Waterloo Oxford D.S.S. where his love of sports flourished and his work ethic grew. Bob went on to work for Stanley Inc. for 15 years in New Hamburg, ON where he also resided and raised his 4 kids. In 1991 Bob started working for the Region of Waterloo and ended as Operations Manager in the Waste Management Division. Bob was an avid runner. He ran many marathons and races including the Boston Marathon, an ultra 38-mile marathon, and countless 8 and 10k's. He was a proud member of "The Road Warriors" running crew with lifelong friends. Bob also coached many hockey teams in New Hamburg and Waterloo in which he looked back on with fond memories. He was a truly gifted athlete and leader that could motivate and bring out the best in everyone. Bob especially enjoyed taking in the sunshine on his deck and going for daily hikes on the trails behind his home in Waterloo. He had a spectacular green thumb that showed in his impressive backyards that boasted beautiful rock gardens, ponds, bird houses and flowers overflowing. We will always remember the family filled days barbequing on his deck and the love he had for his Grandchildren. Bob's moto was ' Peace, Love and Happiness '. His final wishes were for everyone to, " Always wake up happy ". A special thank you to the compassionate staff at Innisfree house and to family and friends for the support and prayers over the last months. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg for a closed casket visitation on April 1st, from 1-4 p.m. A small memorial service will be held at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home on April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
