  LIFE'S BATTLE O'ER. Mrs. Brighton's Sudden Death Mrs. John Brighton, an aged resident of seventy-five years, was found dead in bed in her home on corner Gaukel and Charles street this morning at 8.30 o'clock, by her daughter, Mrs. Simon Erb. The old lady occupied a portion of the same house as Mr. and Mrs. Erb and Sunday evening spent an hour or two with them, apparently in good health. Bidding them good night she went to her own apartments and closed down her shutters for the last time. Mrs. Erb noted this morning that there were no signs of her mother being up and became alarmed. She found it necessary to break into the house and there found Mrs. Brighton calmly sleeping the sleep that knows no waking. Mrs. Brighton was born in Suffolk, England and with her husband came to Canada when both were quite young. Mr. Brighton was for a number of years teamster for the Simpson Company and had the misfortune to be killed by a horse he was attending some twenty-one years ago. Besides Mrs. Erb, Mrs. Brighton leaves two other daughters, Mrs. John Poure and Mrs. J. P. Starnsman and one son in Berlin and four sons and four daughters in various other places. She was a very estimable lady and her death will be regretted though resulting from natural causes.
