    • AIKENS, ADA AMANDA (Nee Rife)

      At Guelph General Hospital, where she had been a patient for about a week, on Monday night, November 7, 1949, in her62nd year. Wife of Thomas Aikens of R. R. #2, Hespeler. She was born in Hespeler, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rife. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Hespeler. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Robert of Okotoks, AB; Wilson of Hespeler; one brother, Herbert Rife of Preston; three sisters, Violet (Mrs. Charles Yates) of Toronto; Mina (Mrs. L. Gowing) of Dearborn, Ml; and Edna (Mrs. John Littleton or Littlejohn - varying reports) of Canton, Ohio. Funeral service from her residence, R. R. #2, Hespeler on Thurs. , Nov. 10 at 2: 30, conducted by Rev. Earl Smith, minister of Hespeler Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers: Alexander Rife of Preston; Lloyd Rife of Elmcoe; Gordon Yates of Toronto; Donald Yates of Toronto; Clifford Gowing and Harold Gowing of Detroit. Interment Hespeler Cemetery.
