  McCandless, Edna (Mrs. Wm. John) - On Sunday, June 14, 1998, at Chateau Gardens, Elmira, Edna (Schlueter) McCandless, in her 89th year. Wife of the late William John McCandless. Mother of Donald McCandless, Elgin and Grace McCandless, all of Elmira, Mary Hilker of Kitchener, Cora and Michael Geffros of Port Huron, Mich., Marj Schmitt of Kitchener, Harold and Jane McCandless of New Hamburg and Gerald and Audrey McCandless of Elmira. Also survived by her two sisters, Nettie Brown of Woodstock and Alberta Weissgerber of Kitchener and one brother, Carl Schlueter of Durham. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Herman and Alberta (Axt) Schlueter; four brothers and three sisters; two grandsons, Stephen and Dennis and one great-grandson, John. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. At noon on Wednesday transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira for funeral service at 1: 30 pm, with Rev.
