- FARWELL, Sister Colette (formerly Mary Robert) SSND - Died at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, ON, on February 19, 2005 in the 66th year as a School Sister of Notre Dame. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Laura (Esbaugh), sister Caroline, brothers Clement, Albert, Lloyd, Paschal and John. Lovingly remembered by her Sisters in community, her sister Della Voisin (Harold) and brothers Harold, Robert (Lois), Anthony (Joan), sisters-in-law Dorothy, Jean and Etta and devoted nieces and nephews. Sister Colette was born in St. Clements, ON. Following graduation from Hamilton Teacher's College, she taught in the grade school at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown. Later, she returned to Waterdown as principal of St. Thomas School. Sister Colette, also, taught in Mildmay, Hamilton, Kitchener, Chepstow, Newmarket and Hanover. She was principal at St. Ambrose School, Cambridge and St. Mary's School, Oakville. Sister Colette was a dedicated educator. After retiring from the classroom, she spent 17 years tutoring at the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre. Then, she continued using her gifts as a volunteer at Information Flamborough, Flamborough Food Bank and for eight years at Cama Woodlands Nursing Home. Visitors will be received at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown on Monday, February 21 (today) from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Rosary will be prayed in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, February 22 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Notre Dame Convent Cemetery.
