- HACKBART, Nelson W. - Peacefully, on Thursday, April 7, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Nelson William Hackbart, of Heritage House, St. Jacobs, and formerly of Heidelberg.
Nelson was born in Wellesley township, 83 years ago, the son of the late Carl Hackbart and the late Margaret Schmidt. A member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, and had farmed near Bamburg until his retirement to Heidelberg in 1966.
Beloved father of William and his wife Carole Hackbart of New Dundee, Norma and her husband Leonard Brenner of Waterloo and Mrs. Dorothy Morrow of Waterloo; dear brother of Clara (Mrs. Emil Schneider) of Elmira. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Christine and Heida Anne Brenner, Suzanne and her husband Alan Schoemacher, Melissa and Joslyn Hackbart and Dwayne and David Morrow; great grandfather of Joseph Schoemacher.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Frieda Anna Lenz, September 18, 1973; by a son-in-law, Warren Morrow in 1981 and by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation at the Futher Bros. Funeral Home, 40 Henry St., Wellesley, where the family will receive friends this evening, 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon Sunday, April 10, removal will be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Heidelberg, for the funeral service at 2: 30 p.m., Rev. Robert Gmeindl and Rev. Frank Manz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery, Heidelberg.
