  DETZLER, Vera Emma - Of Cambridge, on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Cambridge Country Manor, in her 89th year. Vera (Bettschen), beloved wife of the late Alfred Detzler (1990). Dear mother of Helen McKie of Kitchener and Betty Hogg and her husband Robert of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Pauline Bettschen; three sons, Joe, Jim and Tom; one daughter, Marjorie; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; four brothers, John, Fred, Henry and George and three sisters, Pearl, Susie and Margaret. Mrs. Detzler was born in Dashwood, Ontario and had been a lifelong resident of the area. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home , 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, May 24, 2008 from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
