- Samuel W. Schlichter, "was born in 1800 and was married to Maria Strome who was born January 18th, 1803, and died May 11th, 1838. They resided in North Dumfries Township, Waterloo County, where he died March 5th, 1842, leaving one daughter named Mary who was married and resided at Hespeler, Ontario. Some years ago they moved to Port Elgin where her husband died."
