- BATTLER, Beatrice E. (nee Becker) - Suddenly, at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Thursday, March 13, 1997, aged 81 years.
Beatrice retired from managing the Laura Secord Store (Waterloo Town Square) in 1981 and continued to work part time for all locations. She was a member of the Stanley Park United Brethren Church and was active in the Ladies Guild of the church. She was a founding member of the Helina Feesbee Women's Institute and a former member of the Women's Business Curling League at the Granite Club. She will be fondly remembered by her Wednesday afternoon bowling group and the Happy Gang Seniors Card Club.
Loving mother of Brenda Litt, Cheryl Honsberger, both of Kitchener and Dennis Battler of Toronto. Sadly missed by her two grandchildren, Dana Honsberger of Toronto and Travis Honsberger of Kitchener. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ewart Battler in 1994; three sisters, Elfleda, Winnifred and Florence and four brothers, Roy, Howard, Lloyd and Russell.
Friends and relatives may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, this evening (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 1 p.m. on Sunday, transfer will be made to the Stanley Park United Brethren Church, 9 Dreger Ave., Kitchener, for funeral and committal services at 3 p.m. with Rev. John Pearce officiating. Private interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Breslau. Reception to follow at the church.
