An active member of St. Anne's RC Church, serving as caretaker for many years. A retired shoe store manager of 21 years and retired from Boehmer Box Ltd., after 13 years. A member of the Independent Order of Foresters and past president of the Pioneer Comedy and Musical Group. Son of the late Jonas Scheffner and Priscilla Boegel. Husband of the former Anne Strauss; father of Harold and his wife Violet, Mary Jane and her husband Bob Leger, all of Kitchener and Carol Anne (Mrs. Gerry Recoskie) of Waterloo; brother of Armella (Mrs. Gilbert Schnarr) and Anna (Mrs. Harry Brenner), all of Waterloo; grandfather of John, Jenny-Lynn, Jason, Ryan, Amanda and Philip. Predeceased by two daughters and one son, in infancy; three brothers, Wilfred, Hilbert and John and two grandchildren. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home and Chapel, 51 Benton at Church Street, after 2 p.m., Sunday. Christian wake service, Monday, at 8 p.m. Prayers will offered from the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, June 11, at 9: 30 a.m., followed by mass of Christian burial at St. Anne's RC Church at 10 a.m., Rev.
