Notes |
- Death of Mrs. Wm. Oliver - The death took place on Saturday at Denfield, Ont., of an old resident of Ayr in the person of Mrs. Wm. Oliver, aged about 83 years. The deceased had been in failing health for several years, but was not suffering from any particular cause except, apparently, that she had reached her allotted span of life. Mrs. Oliver's maiden name was Ellen Waugh. She was born near where she died, and had been married about 60 years, most of which time was presently in Ayr or its vicinity. Her husband predeceased her 10 years. There was no family. Deceased was a Presbyterian and took an active interest in all good works. She was highly esteemed and respected by a wide circle of friend and acquaintances. Interment was made at Ayr on Monday, the service at the grave being conducted by Rev. J. J. Brown. The pallbearers were Messrs. Thos. O. and Wm. Scott, Stephen Marshall, Robert Morton, John Gemmell and R. J Carrick.
