  Mrs. Kenneth McKenzie - Death of Native of This Village In Her 83rd Year - The death occurred on Saturday afternoon in Blenheim township of Mrs. Kenneth McKenzie, in her 83rd year. Deceased sustained a stroke on Tuesday night, from the effects of which she failed to recover. Her maiden name was Ellen B. Hall, being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hall, Jedburgh, one of the pioneer families of this community. She was born on the farm now owned by William G. Hall and had resided in this vicinity during the whole period of her long life-time. In her younger days Mrs. McKenzie was a valued member of the former Stanley Street Church. For many years she was a member of the choir and for a time occupied the position of leader of that organization. She was also a teacher in the Sabbath School and took a deep interest in other branches of church work. At the time of union she affiliated with Knox United Church. She was a woman of many sterling qualities and was much beloved by a wide circle of friends and neighbors. Alter her marriage the family resided hi Greenfield and South Dumfries, respectively, for a few years, thence removing to their present location in Blenheim, where she had resided for 29 years. Besides her sorrowing husband and one daughter, Ella E., she is survived by one brother, Robert D. Hall of Toronto. The funeral took place from her late residence on Tuesday afternoon, with interment in the Ayr Cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. J. W. Currie, pastor of Knox United Church, and during the service at the residence a vocal duet, "The Lord is My Shepherd," was rendered by Mrs. G. A. Graham and A. L. Easton. The pallbearers were: Irvine J. Campbell, Roy Campbell, Andrew G. Laurie, W. E. Vander, Alex. Lillico and J. W. Lillico. The Ayr News Oct 17 1935 pg 1
