- JACKSON, Ira "Graham" Passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Freeport Health Centre at the age of 86. Cherished husband of Patricia (Berst) for 54 years of Elmira. Lovingly remembered by his daughter Heather and her husband Ronald van de Merwe of Massachusetts. Much loved Poppa of Ryan, Susan and Sarah. Graham is survived by his last living sibling, his twin sister Marjorie Joseph of Kitchener. He was predeceased by his brothers and a sister: Neil, Donald, Murray and Jean Parkhill. Also remembered by several nieces and nephews. Graham was a salesman who loved his work and enjoyed the opportunity to make numerous friendships in his travels. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and puttering around the house. Graham was an elder and a faithful member of Gale Presbyterian Church, Elmira. At Graham's request cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at Gale Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. Linda J. Bell officiating. Reception to follow immediately after the service. Private family burial at Elmira Union Cemetery at a later date. In his memory, donations to either the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be obtained by calling the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, 519-669-2207.
