  Christian Kloepfer was born in New Germany, County of Waterloo, Ont., December 22, 1847, and is of German descent, his parents having emigrated from Baden, Germany, to Canada about 1842. He was educated at the Parochial School in New Germany. Mr. Kloepfer is in business as a wholesale carriage hardware merchant. He married in June, 1880, Elizabeth Murphy, of Guelph. He is a director of several trading institutions, and has been an alderman of Guelph. He was first elected to the House of Commons at the general elections held in 1896. Conservative. Guelph, O.
