Notes - NAFZIGER, Laura (Erb), Greenwood Court, Stratford, was called suddenly to her heavenly home on Friday evening, May 10th, just 3 days before her 99th birthday! Laura was the fourth child of seven, born to Daniel S. and Nancy (Gerber) Erb in Wellesley Township, Waterloo Region, on May 13, 1914. Laura was the beloved wife of the late Harvey Nafziger (1995). Loving mother of Rae & Ruth Nafziger of Mitchell, Nancy Ellen Nafziger of Waterloo, Ronald & Kathy Nafziger of Brunner, and Linda Nafziger of Stratford. Laura was a special Grandma and (Great Grandma) to: Cheryl & Jeff Altaras of Bellevue, WA (Sophie & Adrien); Brent & Rosie Nafziger of Telford, PA (Riley & Dylan); Sharla Nafziger & Anthony Meloni of Rye, NY (Lia & Luca); Darryn Nafziger of New Hamburg (Ayden & Ella) & friend Diane; Cory Albrecht of Kitchener & friend Jen; Janelle Albrecht of Kitchener & friend Scott; Lora Nafziger of Goshen, IN; Lisa Nafziger & Joelle of Ottawa (Zeb); Kaitlyn & Luke Jantzi of Kitchener. Laura is also survived by brother Allan & Norma Erb of R. R. 2, Wellesley, and sister-in-law Katherine Erb of Brunner; and brother-in-law Lewis & Idella Nafziger of Wellesley. She was predeceased by brothers '96Elmer & Vera Erb, John & Frieda Erb, Cornelius & Emma Erb, Norman & Amanda Erb, Daniel G. & Doris Erb, & brother-in-law Mervin Kropf. Also predeceased by brothers-in-law Edward & Teresa Nafziger, Ivan & Laurene Nafziger, and sister-in-law Mary & Robert Stoliker. She is also remembered by Gloria Nafziger of Collingwood and Charlene Nafziger of New Hamburg. Laura was very active at Greenwood Court for many years, giving leadership to the Greenwood Quilters until she turned 95. She enjoyed the social events and activities at Greenwood, as well as hosting family & friends in her apartment, until the last 2 years when she was confined to her room in long term care, but continued enjoying visitors or playing table games with family members. In earlier years Laura was a busy homemaker and gardener as well as manager of the family General Store in Brunner, while her husband operated a farm machinery business. Laura was an active member of Maple View Mennonite Church, Wellesley, in the Sunday School and Sewing Circle for many years. The family will receive friends at Maple View Mennonite Church, 5074 Deborah Glaister Line, Wellesley, on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the sanctuary on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. Pastor Brent Kipfer officiating. Interment to follow in Maple View Cemetery. Donations if desired may be made to Maple View Mennonite Church Building Fund, Mennonite Central Committee or a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Futher-Franklin Funeral Home, Wellesley.
