  SCHMIDT, Egbert - Peacefully, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Egbert Schmidt, age 91 years, of St. Jacobs. Beloved husband of Mina (Bauman) Schmidt for 67 years. Dear father of Ted and Betty Lou of Prince Rupert, B.C., Neil and Sheila of St. Jacobs, Ron of Kitchener, Susan and Brian Tyndall of Pine Lake, Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, John (Crystal), Hank (Linda), Ben; Jamie (Stephanie) and Jenn (Tony); Luke and Levi and by great-grandchildren, Daniel, Brian, Mikayla and Jayde. Brother of Gertrude Ritter and Ethel Gastmeier. Predeceased by his parents, John Theodore and Ellanora (Steen) Schmidt; his brother, Fred Smith and his sister, Theodora. Egbert was the owner of St. Jacobs Printery for 40 years and was a longtime, faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs. At Egbert's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Egbert's life will take place at St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Harold Brill officiating. A family interment of cremated remains will take place at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, St. Jacobs. In his memory, donations to St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. The Record 7 May 2007
