- ELMIRA - Postmaster at West Montrose for 23 years, Charles Marriott, 64, of Elmira, died last night at the K-W Hospital. Mr. Marriott was born Feb. 10, 1889 in Guelph. He lived in West Montrose from 1912 until 1950, when he purchased the Royal Café in Elmira. He sold it last December. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Marriott. His wife, the former Bertha Peaks, survives. Also surviving are four sons, Clayton of West Montrose, James of Kitchener, Clifford of Elmira and Harold of Breslau; four daughters, Ella and Ruth of Kitchener, Hilda of Breslau and Mrs. Les (Grace) Brydges of Breslau; two brothers, Clarence of Guelph and Leroy of Buffalo; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Hammel of Kitchener and Mrs. Lyda Odrowsky of Guelph; 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor. Funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel with interment in the West Montrose United Church Cemetery, Rev. W.M. Metcalfe will officiate
