- A-1-31 Samuel Dobbin: Last Will of Samuel Dobbin of the Township of Waterloo, dec'd.
…I Samuel Dobbin of the Township of Waterloo, lately from the Township of Columbus, Bartholomew County, State of Indiana, one of the United States of America, being weak in body but of sound mind, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament. (1st) I desire that my funeral expenses, together with any other debts I may have, be paid out of my Estate…(2) I further desire that the note I hold against my brother John Dobbin be appropriated in educating and clothing my son Samuel, if necessary. (3rd). further I order and direct, that all the residue of my Estate shall be distributed as follows, viz: To be equally divided between my three children Elizabeth Jane Dobbin, Sarah Ann Dobbin and Samuel Dobbin, with the following exceptions, viz: deducting from my daughter Sarah Ann Dobbins share four hundred dollars in consideration of having given her a superior education, which said four hundred dollars are to be equally divided between my daughter Elizabeth Jane Dobbin and my son Samuel Dobbin. I further direct that all money coming into the hands of my herein after names Executor shall not be paid over to my children until they become of age, but to be put out on interest secured by real estate or otherwise as my executor shall see proper. I also hereby appoint my beloved brother John Dobbin to be Executor of this my last Will and Testament.
