- Percy Shilling, 67, of 97 Lorne Cres. Died today at St. Mary's Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in England, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Shilling, Mr. Shilling came to Kitchener in 1911 and until his retirement a year ago, had worked as a maintenance man at the Knollwood Armories. A member of Highland Road Baptist Church, he served four years during the First World War with the 118th Battalion and four years during the Second World War with the Veterans Guard. His wife, the former Edith Roberts, predeceased him, as did two brothers. Surviving are two sons, Percy and Howard of Kitchener; three daughters, Mrs. Maurille (Jean) St. Croix, Mrs. Douglas (Eva) Daly and Mrs. Walter (May) Davies, all of Kitchener; one brother, Horace of Kitchener; three sisters, Mrs. William (Nell) Chickley of Guelph, and Mrs. Leo (Ivy) Severski and Mrs. William (Edith) Weller, both of Toronto, 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home after noon Wednesday. Funeral arrangements are pending.
