      To about 3 1/2 pounds sifted flour add 2 teaspoons salt and mix throughly together. Then dissolve 1 cake Fleischman's Compressed Yeast in 1 quart luke warm water. See that the
      is not hot, Pour the water and the yeast over the flour and make a moderately stiff dough. Knead thoroughly, and set in a warm place to rise When well risen mould into loaves.again let it rie again, and then bake.1a

    • DEATH SUMMONS MRS. MICHAEL ROOS

      Beloved Woman Will Be Deeply Mourned By Wide Circle Of Friends In Twin City And District.

      There passed early this morning one of the most highly esteemed residents of this city in the person of Louisa Pabst, wife of Mr. Michael Roos, at the residence, 14 Irvin street. Deceased had been unable to leave her bed for the past five months, and was always a patient sufferer. Mrs. Roos was well known in the city and all who came in contact with her were impressed by her kind disposition. Mrs. Roos was born in Preston and came to this city more than 30 years ago.

      Surviving her are her sorrowing husband, two daughters, May, Mrs. Walter Harttung, Nora, Mrs. Otto Forsyth, and one son, Harry Roos of London, One daughter, Leola, predeceased her mother about two years ago and grief over her loss hastened the untimely death of Mrs. Roos. There are also four sisters, Mrs. Charles Allendort of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Edward Panabaker Walkerville, Mrs. Augusta Maud, of New Bedford, Mass., and Mrs. Annie Heaton of Toronto. Two brothers, George Pabst of Chicago and John Pabst of Windsor, are also left.

      Among near relatives of the family, the death of Mrs. Roos has been the ninth which has occurred during the past a year and a half.

      The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2.30 from the house, 14 Irvin street, to Mount Hope cemetery for interment.

      17 Nov 1882 Christine Pabst, nee Kirschner, wife of Christian Pabst, died n Hespeler at age of 49 years, 11 months and 22 days. The deceased was a native of Ehrstaedt, Grand Duchy of Baden; lived a peaceful married life with her husband for 27 years; bore 15 children, among them 2 pairs of twins. She was a vigorous housewife, a loyal life's companion, a good mother, a genial neighbour, and an active member of the Lutheran congregation and of the ladies' group of same. She had suffered repeated illnesses since last spring. The funeral procession, which was an extraordinarily numerous one, took place on Sunday afternoon. The funeral service was led by Pastor Wurster, in which he preached on the text chosen by the deceased herself, Isaiah 61: 10. she is survived by her husband, 12 children and 6 grandchildren.
