    • BAUMAN, Mabel M. 1929-2010 Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in her 81st year. Mabel was born December 6, 1929 on the family farm on the 4th of Peel Township. Survived by brothers Elias and Minerva Bauman of Listowel, Aden and Joanne Bauman of Elmira and brother-in-law Henry and Eileen Martin of Elmira. Mabel was a special aunt to 18 nieces and nephews, 43 great-nieces and nephews and 22 great-great nieces and nephews. Also remembered by Carl Buschert who was a boarder at her home for 30 years and faithfully visited Mabel weekly at Chateau Gardens. Predeceased by her parents Isaac and Rebecca (Martin) Bauman, brothers Clarence (1990) and Eli (2004), sisters Selina (1997) and Mary Martin (2007), three nephews in infancy, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. In 1948, Mabel moved to Elmira with her brothers and sister. They built an accessible bungalow in 1962. She resided there until health issues helped her decide to move to Chateau Gardens LTC. Mabel enjoyed it there for 11 1/2 years where staff and other residents always appreciated her sweet smile and pleasant personality. The family would like to thank all staff at Chateau Gardens for their excellent care given to Mabel. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, on Monday, May 24, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to celebrate Mabel's life will be held at the Elmira Mennonite Church on Tuesday, May 25, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Johanna Wall and Pastor Ray Brubacher officiating, followed by interment in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery. The casket will be open at the church from 9:30 until the time of service. In Mabel's memory, donations to Elmira Mennonite Church or Chateau Gardens Auxiliary would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
