      Tuesday, August 22nd, 1933 - Sunday, September 5th, 2021

Howard Edward Schneider passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at his home in Sandhills Christian Retirement Community where he resided with Cathy for the last 20 years. Because of the incredible support of the community based in-home hospice and palliative services Howard passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side.

He leaves behind the love of his life Catherine whom he was married to for just shy of 65 years. He also leaves behind 2 sons Brad and his wife Sheila, Stacy and 2 daughters Cyndi and her husband Randy Rideout & Jennifer and her husband Reg Sargent; 7 grandchildren Ben (Emily), Todd (Mandy), Trevor (Natalie), Marina (Jonathan Loparco), Jade, Brett and Jessa; 5 great grandchildren Logan, Rowan, Ryder, JT and Griffin. He is also survived by 2 brothers-in-law, Carl Benninger and Don Kraft both of whom have had significant influence in Howard's family life. He is predeceased by his son Paul, parents Edward and Emma Schneider, his mother and father-in-Law Florence and Edmund Marchand, Sister Mildred Kraft, sister and brother-in-law Betty and Don Allgeier, and goddaughter Christine Brekelsmans. Howard was extremely involved with Family and Children's Services, not only working with the Board of Directors but also fostering many children with Cathy in their home.

He was born on Tuesday August 22, 1933, to Edward and Emma Schneider (Rueffer). He was an active member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, enjoying positions on finance, stewardship, evangelism, church properties and church chairman. He started his employment with C.N. Weber Ltd. In May of 1951, just before graduating from KCI in June 1951. He worked his way up in the company eventually assisting in forming the Systems Contracting Division. He managed that division until his retirement in October 2004 after 53 years with the company.

In 1997 he and Cathy got involved in a building project between Historic St. Paul's and Benton Street Baptist Churches called Sandhills Christian Community. They dedicated themselves to being involved in the project since its inception through till the end of last week. He truly had a dedication to Sandhills and what needed to get done right to the end.

One of his favorite relaxing activities was camping up at Carson's Camp in Sauble Beach for 32 years. He made a lot of special memories with family and friends there. He loved being around nature and looking after the gardens they were well known for with his daughter Jen.

Howard will be remembered for his generous and friendly nature. He loved having a good conversation with customers, family, friends and even strangers. He had a great sense of humor and would regularly make people laugh. He will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

Howard's family will receive relatives and friends from 10 - 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Historic St. Paul's Church, 137 Queen St. S., Kitchener, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Private committal service at St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery.
