At St. Mary's Hospital, on Wednesday, January 5, 2000, after a brief illness, with her family by her side, the former Dorothy Violet Ebel, of Westmount Road North, Waterloo, age 87 years. Dorothy was a member of the Church of St. John the Evangelist and had been organist and choir director for many years retiring in 1986. Prior to St. John's, she was organist and choir director at Trinity Anglican Church in St. Thomas and St. John's Anglican Church in Preston. Her love of music was shared with her many music students. She had volunteered for many years with the K-W Symphony and had been involved with the Preston Operatic Society in its early years. Loving mother to Beverley and her husband William Miller of Waterloo, Barbara and her husband Harold Wookey of St. Thomas, Bette and her husband Edward Martin of Oakville; dear sister to Mrs. Alice MacIntosh of Kitchener and Mrs. Norine Schaefer of California; grandmother to Brian and Barry Miller, Sandra and Stephen and his wife Breeda Wookey, David and his wife Jennifer, Sean and Craig Martin and five greatgrandchildren Sarah, Benjamin, Daniel and Evan Miller and Bridget Wookey. Predeceased by her parents Henry Ebel and Fredericka Euler; four sisters Florence Harding, Louise Ebel, Mae Ebel and Beatrice Richardson and one brother Harry Ebel. Friends may call at the RATZ-BECHTEL FUNERAL HOME, 621 King Street West, Kitchener, today (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9-11 a.m. when removal will be made to the Church of St. John the Evangelist, 23 Water Street North, Kitchener, where the Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., with Rev. Canon Dr. Neil S. Carver officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Conestogo. Donations to the Church of St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund as expressions of sympathy.
