    • Former K-W Resident, Young Airman Killed

      Gordon Barrie Douglas, 23, a Former Kitchener resident, died in army. hospital at Fort Bragg, N.C., today after being injured on the army base in a truck-car collision.

      Mr. Douglas was born Sept. 19, 1936, in Detroit but lived at 15 Scott St., Kitchener. He attended public schools here and the K-W Collegiate. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Church.

      In 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Okinawa before being discharged in 1957.

      Two years later he joined the U.S. Air Force and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg.

      He is survived by his parents, Gordon Douglas and the former Ida Donau, "now Mrs. Ida Heubach; and a sister, Mrs. David (Beverley) Mann of the Canadian legation at Warsaw.

      The body will rest at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home. Military officials have not yet sent word on when it will arrive in Kitchener.
