- A-2-124 Henry Schnarr The Last Will and Testament of Henry Schnarr the elder, late of the Township of Waterloo, Yeoman, who died on or about the 22nd October 1861 at the Township of Waterloo, and who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at the Township of Waterloo, was proved and registered in the said Surrogate Court, a true copy of which said Last Will and Testament is hereunder written, and that the administration of all and singular, the personal estate and effects…was granted by the aforesaid Court to Hartman Schnarr of the Village of Waterloo, Esquire, and John Schnarr of the Township of Waterloo, Yeoman, the Executors, and Margaret Schnarr of the Township of Waterloo, widow, the Executrix named in the said Will…
…This Indenture witnesseth that I Henry Schnarr Ser, of the Township of Waterloo, being of sound and siposing mind memory and understanding, do make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making null and void all former Last Will sand Testaments…My will is first that my funeral charges and just debts shall be paid by my Executors and Executrix hereinafter named. (Secondly) My farm consisting of one hundred acres being Lot 28, situate being and lying in the Township of Waterloo, shall be cultivated and carried on by my wife Margaret Schnarr or shall be rented or as my Executors or Executrix may think proper. If said farm is not rented it shall be cultivated and carried on till my son Henry Schnarr Junr. will arrive at the age of twenty one years and if he wants to, buy it then he shall have it for three thousand dollars payable in time and manner following, viz. From the day of such purchase from said Executors or Executrix hereinafter named, one thousand dollars payable in annual equal instalments of two hundred and fifty dollars each and the balance in ten years from the day of purchase with interest, and he will have to pay the interest on said two thousand dollars at six per cent to my wife Margaret Schnarr, making one hundred and twenty dollars per year. I further give, devise and bequeath unto my son Henry Schnarr four hundred dollars - To my daughters Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth, each two hundred dollars. And I further give devise and bequeath unto my two daughters Mary Schnarr and Elizabeth Schnarr, each one bed and bedding and one bureau. And I further give, divise and bequeath unto my wife Margaret Schnarr one table, one cooking stove, one bed with bedding, one clock and all the kitchen furniture. And I further request my Executors to provide my wife Margaret Schnarr a suitable dwelling on my premises, but not to exceed one hundred and fifty dollars to be paid out of my estate. I further give, devise and bequeath after the decease of my wife Margaret Schnarr the rest and residue of my estate, real and personal and mixed, of which I shall be seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, to my children to be divided in equal shares. And I do nominate and appoint Hartman Schnarr of the Village of Waterloo, and John Schnarr of the Township of Waterloo, as my Executors, and my wife Margaret Schnarr, Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament.
