  • Notes
    • JANET MARGARET CROSS (nee KIRKPATRICK) Passed away at home in her ninety-second year on Saturday, November 4, 2006. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Henry Cross. Survived by her daughters Sally (Peter), Linda (Ron) and Suan (Josh). She was Gonny to Jamie, Lissa, Danny, Jonathan, Gillian, Melanie, Patricia and Kimberley and great grandmother to McKayla, Kali, Averie, Charlie, Grace and Evan. Special thanks to Judith Caffrey, a caring friend and companion. Mom was an avid sportswoman - a Life Member of Beaconsfield Golf Club where she was a championship golfer as well as giving her time as Ladies Captain, Lady President and Team Chairman for the Quebec Division of the CLGA. She loved the competition but was the first to encourage younger golfers to beat her. She curled competitively at the city and provincial levels. A late-blooming Grandma Moses, she finished her last watercolour just days before she died. It was her wicked sense of humour and survival that saw her through life's tough times. She was most fond of laughing at herself and taught us to not take ourselves too seriously. The twinkle in her eye will be missed by a large group of people of all ages as will the stories of her latest antics. Funeral service will be at St. John the Baptist Church, 233 St. Claire Ave. in Pointe Claire on Thursday, November 16 at 2 p.m. The family will receive visitors at the church from 1 p.m. Reception to follow. Funeral entrusted to Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Pointe Claire 514-483-1870.
